This deal doesn't make a lot of sense.

For what it's worth, I think this is an okay trade. Pittsburgh gets an upgrade some places, takes on salary they can afford and gives out a prospect. Oakland gets a little more freedom in personnel and payroll. Works for me.

I didn't say I thought it was unfair - I just don't see why Pittsburgh would want to do this.

Did you see Pitt throwing around $15mil for a 81/81 pitcher? I offered a 78/78 pitcher at more than half the cost, saved him roughly $16 mil over those two years. Have you seen Pitts bullpen? Flores is now the highest rated pitcher in his pen. Have you seen Pitts 2B spot? Didn't think so.
If you wanted the Pitt GM job, why didn't you just sign up for it yourself?

I just made a comment that it didn't make sense. Most leagues require people to explain their reasoning on trades.
I signed up for KC to benefit the league, Pitt is welcome to do what he wants, I just was curious why he would take on that much salary and give up a pretty decent prospect. Why that deserves two responses like that I don't know.

It should also be noted that this is the same GM that almost single-handedly destroyed the Blue Jays - so asking for an explanation for why he'd take on over-priced contracts for mediocre players is warranted in my opinion. You can be frustrated for past trade issues Bacardio - but that doesn't mean you should overreact to justified questions.
