Aneheim Angels The AL winningest team. The All-Star Lineup. The King of Kings. John Lackey as the ace (25-7), and a front runner for Cy Young no less. He is joined by Mike Mussina (20-3), John Pattesron (14-10), and Shawn Hill (16-2) coming into the playoffs as the rotation. None of them have an ERA over 3.75. As for the bullpen Saito will close and K-Rod will be the setup man. Arguably the best closer and setup man combo in the MLB. Shields, Oliver, and Carrasco all had excellent years in relief and Miller, gotten from Houston, will be the long relief. Their lineup is a plethora of all-stars. Batting first is Mike Napoli, catcher. He had a low average but a high OBA and had the least amount of HRs with 15. Second is Alfonso Soriano, second baseman. One of the league's top HRs hitter, Soriano topped at 47 this year. Manny Ramirez bats third, and is in his 6th year where he has hit 40 HRs. A future first ballot Hall of Famer. Barry Bonds bats cleanup, and has an excellent .516 OBA. He had a new all-time record for walks with 253 and hit 41 HRs, placing him just behind Aaron. He'll break the record next season. Nick Johnson bats 5th, and hit a career high 31 HRs. He had a .423 OBA. Morgan Ensburg has become one of the top bats at shortstop. He smashes 38 HRs, with an OBA of .404. Ball not found. Scott Spiezio was a surprise at 3B, as he hit 29 HRs. At 2.25mil a year he is a bargain. Juan Rivera hit .315 with 33 HRs. The best 9th hitter in the league. This team is a frontrunner for the pennant, and the series. GO ANGELS!

New York Yankees The Yankees were just 6 games behind the amazing Angels. Their entire rotation are stars or to be stars. Chris Carpenter (16-8) as the ace. Peavy (22-5) is no slouch either. Jason Schmidt (16-7), Ervin Santana (18-7), and King Felix (9-14) end this all-star rotation. Their bullpen is just as frightning. Headed no longer by Mariano Rivera, one of the best closers especially in the postseason, but now the rookie Kevin Correia, former closer Bob Wickman, and Scott Proctor they also sport one of the top bullpens. Derek Jeter leads off the lineup sporting an excellent bat for contact and clutch. Hideki Matsui bats second hitting 19 HRs. Matsui is a patient hitter who is an excellent RBI machine. Albert Pujols is one of the most deadly hitters in the game. He hit a career high 56 HRs and is a frontrunner in the MVP race. Chipper Jones continues to be one of the best 3Bs in the game. An excellent replacement for A-Rod, batting .938 OPS. Bobby Abreu remains an OBA machine, with a .397 OBA this year. Torii Hunter hit a career high 31 HRs with excellent defense this year. Robinson Cano continues his excellent hitting at 2B with .330. Almost enough for a batting title. If he can develop patience or power he'll be a force. Jorge Posada continues his excellent hitting at catcher with a .261/.354/.452 line. The Yankee and the Angels seem to have the best chance at the pennant. GO YANKEES!

New York Mets After slumping in the beginning of the year the Mets became a force. A force with a vengence. All of their pitchers, that arn't Pedro Feliciano and Brandon League had an ERA in the 3s. Everyone. John Maine had 19 wins. Their rotation and bullpen was a force to be reckon'd with. Alex Rios leads things off with an .848 OPS and committed only 2 errors all year. David Wright continues to be one of the best young 3Bs. He hit a career high 28 HRs with an .895 OPS. Lance Berkman seems the obvious choice for MVP. .328 average. 49 HRs. 1.102 OPS. Vladimir Guerrero is still a force. He hit 37 HRs with a career high 144 RBIs. Carlos Beltran was amazing. He hit 53 HRs with an 1.072 OPS. He'll get votes for MVP this year. Jose Valentin has 2nd wind in his career. For only 912k he hit 34 HRs with 126 RBIs. Melky Cabrera starts his career at shortstop with an .396 OBA. Expect great stuff from a future all-star. Paul Lo Duca plays catcher and doesn't disappoint. He batted .311 this year. A favorite for the NL Pennant, the Mets are still a force. GO METS!
